Luv (Un)Arranged by N.M. Patel is that full-on desi romance dhamaka that’ll make you feel every single emotion—just like a proper Bollywood masala flick. From steamy romance to total family drama, this book has it all. If you’re in the mood for chaos, love, and laughter, then Kriti and Aakar’s story is just the ticket!

So, here we go: Kriti Pandya, the eldest Pandya daughter, has three strict shaadi conditions that she’s sticking to come what may—staying financially independent, waiting six months for ahem bedroom bonding, and keeping control of her own earnings. And why shouldn’t she, right? She’s been through rishta after rishta, and every guy has run off faster than you can say “arranged marriage”... until she meets Mr. Perfect—Aakar Mishra! The man not only respects her boundaries but actually believes in them. Bas, at this point, I was ready to start cheering!
Let me tell you, Aakar and Kriti’s chemistry? Sizzling! Their romance is that slow-burn delight that makes you blush and grin like a school kid. Aakar takes her on long drives, chats over chai, and doesn’t rush anything. He’s charming, calm, and absolutely adorable—and it helps that he’s also a proper desi sanskaari boy, with respect and all. Except, of course, for the one time he messes up big-time (yeh toh hona hi tha!), but he comes back with a heartfelt apology. Bonus points for that realness!
But here’s where the real tadka comes in: Aakar’s family is HUGE, like a joint family times 100! Kriti, coming from a small family, is super scared of losing herself amidst all the chaos. Patel does such a fab job showing Kriti’s mix of love, worry, and adjustment. The whole “good daughter-in-law” versus “good wife” dilemma? So real, so relatable. And then there’s this perfect scene where Aakar messes up and his entire family sides with Kriti. The way they rally around her—uff, just hits you in the feels!
The family dynamics are gold—Aakar’s family is chaotic, loud, and nosy, but oh-so-loving. Kriti’s own mom, pushing her to meet boys while still supporting her independence, feels exactly like that typical desi mom balancing traditions and her daughter’s happiness.
And hello, the romance! Kriti and Aakar’s dates, drives, and dreamy stares—uff, kya chemistry! It's all the more exciting because they’re taking it slow, actually getting to know each other. They’re both relatable, not perfect, and that’s what makes their love story so real. Watching two virgins have their own sweet yet steamy moments? Absolutely refreshing and blush-worthy!
And how can I not mention Abhi? Total scene-stealer and my new fave! He’s dealing with his own issues and that societal judgment that’s all too real. His story reminded me of those big cultural stigmas that need to change. I would LOVE a book about him next. Just saying!
In short, Luv (Un)Arranged is a proper desi delight—romance, family drama, Bollywood feels, the whole deal. If you want a story that’s relatable, laugh-out-loud funny, and heartwarming, grab this book ASAP. Kriti and Aakar are a total couple goal, and their story will give you major “aww” moments. Perfect read for anyone who’s going through the arranged marriage circus, or just wants a good old-fashioned desi love story!
P.S. That groveling moment? Hayee, what a scene!
