I got to read an early copy of Maxine Henri's new book, "Reckless Hunger." It's a love story set in the Reckless Billionaire series, and it's pretty captivating.

The story follows Ivory, an art student, and Andrea Cassinetti, a billionaire artist who also happens to be her professor. It's a forbidden romance with a big age difference, exploring love, societal expectations, and personal struggles.

The characters are well-developed. Ivory is a good girl breaking free, finding herself in art school. Andrea, dealing with addiction, finds inspiration in Ivory. Maxine Henri weaves their stories together in a way that's intense and emotional.

The writing is elegant, and the pace keeps you interested. Ivory's journey and Andrea's battle with addiction add depth. However, there were times when the story felt a bit overloaded with themes like virginity, age gap, professor-student dynamics, family issues, and addiction recovery. I prefer a more focused story, and these subplots distracted from the central romance.

One thing worth mentioning is the palpable angst in the story. Ivory and Andrea's relationship has a lot of ups and downs, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it adds tension.

The book has elements like a virgin heroine, wounded souls, and the forbidden lovers trope. The steamy scenes are well-done, adding spice without being too much.

In summary, "Reckless Hunger" is a well-written novel with strong characters and a passionate take on forbidden love. It might be a bit much for some readers with all the themes, but if you like complex romances with angst, this is a good pick.

Maxine Henri's writing is impressive, and even if it didn't completely match my preferences, the quality of the storytelling is evident. "Reckless Hunger" showcases her talent for creating a world where passion and self-discovery collide in forbidden ways.
