Get ready to add "Elevator Pitch" to your TBR list if you’re a fan of sweet romances with a quirky twist and characters that feel like your BFFs! Evelyn Leigh has given us a cute and cozy rom-com wrapped in a fun adventure with plenty of “aww” moments, funny vibes, and, oh yes, spice! But let’s be real, this book’s first-person POV can be a bit of a hit-or-miss for some readers (myself included!), so let’s dive into the good, the swoon-worthy, and the not-so-fun bits.

The Story:
Selah Bailey, an anxious homebody on a mission to change her life, creates a “F*ck It List” to push herself out of her comfort zone. Armed with her list of brave, daring goals, she faces the challenge of needing a partner for some of her more adventurous tasks. Enter Greyson Park, her super-hot neighbor, who might just be the solution to her dating app disasters—and let’s not forget he’s a dating app creator himself!
Greyson, on the other hand, is a workaholic divorcé, more comfortable with his dog than with dating drama. He agrees to help Selah with her list (with no-strings-attached, obviously), but the chemistry between these two turns their "casual" agreement into a rollercoaster of feels. The question is: can Selah find love outside of her comfort zone, and can Greyson move beyond his past? Spoiler alert: falling in love wasn’t on Selah’s list, but it might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to her.
What I Loved:
Selah Bailey is your girl-next-door—relatable and real with her awkward moments, self-doubt, and that burning desire to just live after a tough breakup. I loved her “F*ck It List” idea; who doesn’t need a little reminder to go out there and live their best life, right? Selah’s journey, both in life and in love, was adorable, especially her interactions with Greyson. They start with "neighbors with benefits" but their connection grows into something deeper, and their banter? Top-notch!
Greyson, though, stole the show for me. This man is not only swoony but also emotionally complex. His past might have left him hesitant to commit, but watching him open up to Selah, all while being a soft, sweet, pleasure-loving gentleman (yes, you read that right—this man knows how to spoil!), was beyond satisfying. And don’t even get me started on his “Body Language” playlist for Selah—talk about thoughtful!
What Didn’t Click:
Now, I gotta be honest—the first-person POV wasn’t my jam. While it gave us an inside look into Selah’s thoughts, at times, it felt like I was being told everything rather than being shown. There’s a lot of summarizing going on in the characters' minds instead of playing out the conversations or actions. It would’ve been more engaging if we experienced more of those moments first-hand.
Also, Greyson’s complicated relationship with his ex-wife left me scratching my head. I get the "we can still be friends" vibe, but there were moments when I felt it blurred the lines of realism.
The Verdict:
"Elevator Pitch" is a feel-good romance with heartwarming moments, witty banter, and a hero who will have you swooning to the 12th floor! While the first-person POV was a bit of a speed bump for me, the adorable chemistry between Selah and Greyson made up for it. If you love romance with a touch of spice and characters who feel like your besties, this one’s for you! Plus, who knows—maybe the love of your life is just an elevator ride away?
